What can you find on this blog?
My thoughts on:
- Doctor Who – I first found this wonderful show when I was in my early teens and I have been obsessed ever since! I focus on the main show as well as the Big Finish Audio Dramas.
- Star Wars – The Galaxy Far, Far Away has a special place in my heart. Alongside the movies and shows, I’m also into the comics and books (which includes The High Republic publishing initiative).
- EastEnders – What started out as a guilty pleasure is now a staple in my life. I love watching the residents of Albert Square deal with life in a frustrating way.
- Any other media I’m currently obsessed with.
My experiences with:
- Mental Health – I suffer from depression, anxiety and OCD (various themes). I hope to talk about them so that I can help others understand and to help myself from my own experiences
- Religious Trauma – As a former Christian, I had to go through a lot to get out – which unfortunately still affects me to this day.
- Immigrant Trauma and Discrimination – Self-explanatory.

Origin of the Username
I have had so many usernames for my online presence in the past. But due to my just-right/perfectionism OCD (which I will write about one day), at some point I would delete everything and start afresh – for no valid reason (or very flimsy reasons).
It was exhausting.
I am now trying to work on my OCD.
After deleting my last set of accounts, I was going about creating yet another username. I wanted a username that was unique, mysterious and sounded cool. And also one that was rare enough that would make it an available on most platforms!
While I’m not 100% sure on how I came up with this username, it seems to have derived from Aristophanes, the name of a Greek playwright who I know nothing about. Apart from the fact that he has a great name. “Aristo” became “astra” since I like space and sci-fi, and I kept “phanes” the same since it sounded cool.
And thus “Astraphanes“ was born.
I really hope I don’t delete all of this due to my OCD.
